Rimon Winery Selections

In the heart of the Galilee Mountains of Israel, nestled in the
seductive curves of rolling hills, is a place where time seems to stand still. For thousands of years this land has produced the legendary
agricultural riches of the Holy Land. Today, the fullest expression of this history is a breathtaking pomegranate orchard and the pure
pomegranate wines of Rimon Winery.
Winery
Rimon Winery combines the traditions of thousands of years of winemaking in the Holy Land with the most modern
architecture, technology, and winemaking expertise. The winery sits on a basalt plateau nearly 3,000 feet above sea level, nestled in the heart
of the Nachmias family’s pomegranate orchard.
The building itself has been crafted from local stone to blend into the timeless hills above the Sea of Galilee. Hidden behind the stone walls
is a state-of-the art winemaking facility featuring special pomegranate separation and pressing equipment, stainless steel fermentation tanks,
and a barrel room where the wines are aged in classic French oak barrels.
Named for the Hebrew word for pomegranate, the winery is the first to successfully produce fine wine made from 100% pomegranate — without added
sugar.
The Winemakers
Rimon Winery is owned and operated by the Nachmias family, a third
generation farming family who were among the founding fathers of Moshav Kerem Ben Zimra in Israel’s Upper Galilee. The father and son winemaking
team of Gaby and Avi Nachmias, a farmer and a businessman respectively, were inspired by a love of their land and wine, to create a unique style
of wine—made from special pomegranates developed in their own orchards.
From the beginning, both Gaby and Avi understood that a wine can only be as good as the quality of the fruit from which it is created.
Experienced farmers, they dedicated themselves to growing the highest quality pomegranate fruit in the world. These special pomegranates, famous
for their very high juice content, soft tannins, and rich flavors, are critical to the success of the Rimon Wines.
In their drive for perfection, the two sought training and advice from Dr. Arkadi Papikian, a leading expert in enology in the Holy Land. With
their knowledge and determination, combined with the unique pomegranates they developed in their orchard, Gaby and Avi are now justly proud of
their award-winning wines that have been recognized for excellence throughout the wine world.
